About supervision

I believe that for supervision to be effective, the supervisee needs to feel safe, supported in their work, and challenged in a way that allows them to grow and develop.  I offer a collaborative space in which I hope you will feel able to share both the positive and more difficult aspects of your work.

My preferred model for supervision is Hawkin's and Shohet's seven eyed model which encourages a multi-contextual view of client work.  Relevant contexts include the client's personal circumstances and systems of which they are a part, the relationship between client and therapist, the relationship between therapist and supervisor, the therapist's (and supervisor's) personal circumstances that may affect their work, legal and ethical frameworks, socio-cultural contexts, and the place in which the therapist works including policies and procedures.  This layered view, I believe, can broaden and enrich our understanding of what is happening in therapy.

About me

I have been providing both one to one and group supervision for five years, having qualified with a post-qualification diploma in counselling supervision in 2017.  I have experience of supervising in the voluntary sector, in educational settings and through private practice.

As a lecturer on the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling,  I have supervised trainee counsellors offering an integrative model comprising person-centred and psychodynamic (including attachment) approaches.  If you are a trainee counsellor on a similar course looking for a supervisor for your placement work,  I will hopefully have an understanding of your course requirements, and I am happy to complete a supervisor's report for your portfolio.

For qualified counsellors and psychotherapists I offer one to one and group supervision through my private practice in Church Crookham, Fleet, for both individual and couple therapy.  My original training as a relationship therapist as well as subsequent training and experience allows me to offer supervision through systemic (including narrative), psychodynamic, attachment and person-centred lenses.

As a registered and accredited member of the BACP, I work in accordance with their ethical framework.

I offer private supervision from my practice in Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire.  I am also able to offer remote supervision via Zoom or telephone.
